What Payment Methods Do You Have?

We have several payment options for the convenience of our customers. You can pay for storage and moving by several methods, including:

  • cash (5% discount);
  • check/Zelle -same price as on the bill
  • debit/credit cards (3% processing fee added).

You can pay by card only if it belongs to you. You must prove it by providing your ID.

We never share your card details with third parties. Payment security is provided by secure connection technologies.

Does A Long-Distance Move Cost More?

Long-distance moves are the same services as any other option we offer. It includes loading, transportation of your stuff and the final work at a new location, including unloading , assembling and arranging furniture, appliances, personal belongings, and removal of used packing materials. Since the long distance move takes more time it’s usually more expensive than a local move.

The only way to pay for long-distance moves is by credit/debit cards cashiers check or Zelle transfer.

Customers must pay 10% to place the reservation, 40% of the cost at the pick up and 50% at the delivery before the unloading.

Is It Possible to Order Loading and Unloading Services for Those Who Rented Self-Moving Trucks?

You can hire our movers if you have rented a self-moving truck. This service is especially suitable for customers who want to do a long distance move on their own but don’t want to load/unload the truck. Our crew performs work of any degree of complexity: from moving heavy special dental equipment to unloading trucks in warehouses and other facilities. They also provide professional assistance in office, apartment moving, and loading any large items. 

Remember that we are only responsible for loading and unloading services. If items are damaged during transportation, our company is released of all liability.

Do I Have to Pay for Travel Time?

We apply a minimum 45-minute travel time to all the services inside the Greater Boston area (it includes movers’ arrival and time they spend to return to the terminal after providing all the services). For customers located outside the Greater Boston area, travel time is counted according to Google Maps from one of our truck locations (whatever is closer to you) to the pick up and then back from the drop off place. This time period is fixed, so you will never have to pay for downtime. 

What to Do if My Belongings Are Broken During Moving?

If you have noticed any damages after moving, please submit a complaint to our claims department. We always try to solve all problems as quickly as possible. As soon as a customer complaint is received, one of the team members analysis it and sends a request to the department manager who is responsible for its solution. After receiving such a request, the manager is obliged to determine the cause of the situation as soon as possible and take measures to eliminate it. In this case, the best way out of the situation is agreed with the client.

To ensure your problem is resolved, please double check everything once movers unload all your belongings, make a note in the bill of lading and sign. 

Remember that it’s impossible to deduct the cost of damages from the moving service costs. You have to pay the entire bill after receiving our services and after that we can process the claim.

Is It Possible to Order Additional Services on the Moving Day?

We understand that clients won’t always be able to account for everything they will need before the move. For example, there won’t be enough packing materials, there will be a need to get rid of unwanted items. However, customers should also understand that any changes to the schedule may cause delays for the next clients. If we are capable of doing that we will definitely provide you with extra services.

We also may decline such an order or charge extra fees for additional services.

Is It Possible to Move Heavy Items?

Moving items that weigh over 300 lbs. is hard because it can damage the space and the belongings. Since it’s impossible to ensure protection without special skills and experience, it’s better to order professional help.

Our movers are ready to deliver oversized cargo, regardless of the size and weight of the items, as well as the complexity of the organization of the process. Our company strictly adheres to all rules that apply to the transportation of oversized items. This applies to packaging, loading, transportation, unloading, and preparation of supporting documentation. Transportation can be arranged at any convenient time. 

Do You Provide Hoist Services?

Don’t worry if your couch or dresser doesn’t fit through the staircase. We will help you lift your belongings even to the highest floor. The cost of such services directly depends on the number of items moved, their unwieldiness, the number of floors of the building, as well as the interfloor spans, but in any case, it will be affordable to our customers. Our workers have not only sufficient physical strength but also the necessary equipment and bulk which guarantees the safety of any transported object.

However, remember that if an item is over 250 lbs., a hydraulic lift or a crane is required for hoist to avoid any possible damages. Otherwise, our movers may decline to provide such services if they see that it’s dangerous for the building or the object itself.

Is It Possible to Move on a Bad Weather Day?

Paradise Moving & Storage Inc reserve the right to reschedule the move at an agreed-upon time, without liability if there is inclement weather, including, but not limited to heavy/freezing rain, snow emergency, hurricane warning, weather travel ban, etc.

Should I Secure a Parking Spot for the Truck?

Customers have to take care of unobstructed truck access to the house or apartment for quick loading. This will speed up the process and the cost of moving will be lower.

You should ensure that at least 40 feet are available for parking. To avoid extra spendings, find a spot located close to the front door. If there are any truck parking tickets or fees, customers must pay them (these costs will be added to the final price).

Is It Possible to Deliver Only One or Two Items?

Yes, it’s possible to move only a couple of items. To transport one or more objects, we offer a compact truck. However, since we charge hourly, it will be much more profitable if you ask for moving more belongings. Packing more boxes makes ordering our services more cost-efficient and comfortable.

How Much Time Does Moving Take?

Timing varies, depending on the requirements. The more things, furniture, fragile furnishings, household appliances are, the more time is needed. The distance between the loading/unloading places and the number of floors of the building also make a difference. To speed up the work, we recommend packing things, organizing boxes, and preparing them for transportation in advance.

Should I Pay Hourly?

All our clients are charged hourly with no extra fees. To calculate service costs, we consider not only time but also movers, all equipped trucks, fuel, tolls, mileage, and basic insurance coverage. By paying hourly, maintenance costs are reduced and unnecessary costs to the customer are eliminated.

However, remember that we have a 2.5-hour minimum charge policy, even if you need to transfer just a few items. 

Do I Need to Empty My Drawers and Cabinets Beforehand?

If your furniture has drawers and cabinets, you should empty them before our movers arrive. It helps ensure complete protection of items during transportation. Furthermore, it’s required to remove everything from small furniture pieces, such as plastic or glass carousel/turntable microwave accessories.

Is It Possible to Move Major Appliances With You?

Yes, it’s possible to move any appliances that require especially careful handling during transportation. For increased safety, special packaging is required.

However, to avoid any damage, we move freezers or fridges only when all content has been removed. Moreover, all the appliances must be disconnected properly. Please note we are not allowed to disconnect washers/dryers,refrigerators, etc.

What Types of Cargo Aren’t Transported?

We move almost all items until they are safe and legal for transportation. It’s impossible to order shipping:

  • dangerous and prohibited goods;
  • animals;
  • flowers,plants;
  • firearms, edged weapons and ammunition;
  • self-explosive cargo. 

While ordering our services, clients guarantee that the cargo has no attachments that are prohibited or restricted for transfers by transport under the conditions of the company according to applicable law.

How Many Movers Do I Need?

The number of workers depends on the type of cargo, the size of your dwelling, the number of rooms, and availability. If there are large and heavy musical instruments, monolithic cabinets, or sculptures. More workers will be needed to carefully pack, load, and unload things. Usually, to transport an object weighing over 110 lbs., you need 2–3 people strong enough.

The more movers work on an order, the less time they spend on it. When deciding how many movers to hire, each customer finds their own balance between service time and a number of workers.

May Your Company Disassemble and Assemble My Belongings?

Our specialists will disassemble and reassemble furniture in the shortest possible time. They use only modern high-quality tools and equipment which allows them to quickly cope with any task.

Services are provided according to a number of nuances, including the peculiarities of fasteners, as well as the materials from which the item is made. Mistakes are unacceptable because they can lead to a reduction in the life of the furniture. It’s especially difficult to disassemble and reassemble items that have already been subjected to such manipulation more than once, and our employees never forget about this factor during their work.

While providing this service, we offer:

  • dismantling of large furniture pieces;
  • packing of each piece of furniture;
  • separate packing of all detached fasteners and their marking;
  • careful loading in the van, securing for safe transport;
  • unloading at the new location;
  • assembly and installation of furniture in the specified places.
